Green Economics Institute and GEI Climates Demands for the Glasgow Treaty Today

1. we urgently need to get the term keep 1.5 alive– removed and get something much less limp and defeatist in the treaty headline items.1.5 was the core of Paris- we are six years on with 8 years till climate disaster so we need to go further faster lower than 1.5 degrees -we need to keep to 1.2 degrees NOW today-

We want this in the Glasgow Treaty-

2. As Sir David Attenburgh said we need to never breech or exceed 414 ppmillion CO2 e. as it will cause inevitable runnaway disaster- we need to get this into the headline as it is a pyhsics certainty not a load of the usual waffle and its about climate not rubbish. Please work to get this inserted. If you are not sure what it means watch the opening ceremony and his speech -and then insist on it in all party negoatiations fast.

3. These rights etc are not described or included in actual power and inclusion or being heard except by invitation and tokenism -I want proper inclusion as a part of all systems and all structures in the UN and state meetings etc- can you get that included and all in accordance with the SDGs which are being utterly ignored at this conference- please speak to parties and in meetings and get these included fast

4. Net zero -what on earth does that mean and by 2050 is so late we will probably all be under water or unable to cope with the enhanced heat -or lack of water- this is meaningless idiocy- we need it replaced with something hugely faster within 10 years all fossil fuels banned throughout the world and all planning altered and all loss and damage fully implemented. We need urgent climate action and faster NDC implementation by 2022 by COP27

5. We need sanctions against those states that cant get their act together -to reduce their per capita carbon footprint -within the year- the time for excuses is over… -fines for states that wont deliver- or boycotts- for any regime that continues to open up new fossil fuels- -and the role of globalised supply chains must feature in the Glasgow treaty- can you please work hard to get that in there -its the key to how this all went wrong and ignoring it wont cure the climate. Senseless sending of prodcuts round the world -even animals just so one firm can make money -is bonkers and self destruct- so must stop

6. ensure we get a vegetarian diet in the treaty -not plant based frankenstein foods- the public is ready for this -and end factory farming and destroying nature- start replanting diverse local indigenous vegetation to stabilise the soils and water courses etc to end all the run off.

7 urgent need to look at sanitation -to provide it in less developed countries and to stop its pollution in global north -needs reengineering fast
8 stop deadzones in the sea -and large top of the food chains mammals being wipped out -they are needed

9 continue to sort out other green house gases and get more ambition in there

10 finance- get real deals not smoke screen bribes which are never delivered- now 600 billion annually needs to be on the table please work on getting that in and the pathway for its delivery that works and that the donors will deliver- its been since 2009 almost nothing has appeared- no more empty promises buying off LDCs

11 Put LDCs ( less developed countries at the top of the leadership roles) plus indigenous peoples, small island states, gendered platforms, inclusive platforms, young people and differently abled people in charge of the talks and working groups to ensure they deliver properly-

It is our role at this COP to deliver this gendered inclusive diverse indigenous intersectional outcome -we need to step up and deliver it fast-
